Cancellation Policy
We hope that you will never have to cancel your booked tour, but it does happen.
Here are is our cancellation policy.
Standard Policy
Cancel up to 7 days before the start date of your tour and get a full refund. Timing is calculated in accordance with Japan Standard Time (JST).
Any reservations that Tours Japan has made to provide your tour will be subject to that providers cancellation policy and any resultant cancellation fees will be billed at cost.
Unforeseeable Events
You may receive a full refund if you are prevented from taking the tour because of an unforeseeable event that is out of your control and shows up after booking. The determination of what constitutes Unforeseeable Events is at the discretion of Tours Japan.
The following is a list of examples of Unforeseeable Events:
(a) Impersonal events that make it dangerous or impossible to safely undertake a tour, such as: travel restrictions imposed by governments, epidemic disease unusual to an area, war, civil insurrection, strike, extreme weather, earthquake and natural disaster;
(b) A ship that is unable to dock and prevents you from taking a tour that is scheduled to begin at the pier ship is scheduled to arrive at;
(c) A flight cancellation if there are no other means to travel to the destination;
(d) A “Do Not Travel” advisory issued by the US Department of State after a booking is made.
The following do not constitute Unforeseeable Events:
(a) Illness or injury of a tour participant;
(b) Poor weather;
(c) Change of plans;
(d) Oversleeping.
You may be required to provide verification and/or documentation to confirm that you were unable to take your tour if you request a refund under this provision. You can check with Tours Japan to confirm that the event is an Unforeseeable Event and that you can provide the required documentation before you cancel any booking.
Amendments.
Tours Japan may modify and amend this Cancellation Policy from time to time. Tours Japan will provide notice of such changes on the Tours Japan website
